Finally, an update

Hi Everyone. Sorry it has taken us so long to update the blog. Life has been very busy and we are enjoying every min with our little guy. Where do I even start????

We'll start with a silly picture of Caden and his daddy....


Baths are a major hit with Caden. He can be sleepy or cranky, but a bath always brings out our smiling little boy. Once you put him on the bathroom floor and turn on the water he starts with the giggling. The happiness lasts through the entire bath...



Tooth #3, #4 and possibly #5 are on their way in as we speak. It's been hard on the little guy this weekend -- tylenol has been helpful, in addition to chewing on frozen peaches in his mesh feeder.

He's able to pick up finger food now and eat it -- loves his Gerber puffs and this afternoon he had some banana bits. The banana's were slippery, but yummy when he finally got them in his mouth.

We are really working on crawling and pulling up. He needs to figure how to work his arms and his legs together. At daycare they got him rocking on his hands and knees last week. He has also started wanting to pull himself up. It's been very cute watching him move about. He also finally realized that he can roll around to get places.

This weekend we took Caden to the Deanna Rose Children's Homestead -- which is an amazing jewel here in KC. Caden liked seeing all the animals, especially feeding the goats!! We got to see ducks, pigs, big goats, little goats, bobcats, cows, an owl, an eagle, a hawk, bison, prairie dogs, and fish. Once he gets a little bigger we are going back to bottle feed the little goats.




Back on May 3rd we participated in the March of Dimes walk....we did the 3 mile route. Caden stayed awake until the last 1/2 mile when he finally fell sleep in his stroller. We thank all of our friends and family who donated to a GREAT cause. It was a very moving event -- many families/teams had shirts in honor and memory of their premature babies. We already knew how lucky we were that Caden only ended up being 6 weeks early and completely healthy, however, the event showed we have a long way to go with research to ensure all babies have a chance. We even ran into one of my nurses from my hospital stay -- it was great to be able to introduce her to Caden. Farmers Insurance had a booth for parents to get a photo child ID....Caden wanted to hold his own sign.
